Visa Requirements

A. To contact a Sierra Leone Embassy, High Commission or Consulate. Whoever wishes to enter Sierra Leone must apply for visa at the above.
B. Where there is no High Commission, Embassy or Consulate one can apply for visa at the port of entry – Lungi International Airport being the only entry by air.
C. A Sierra Leonean resident can apply for a visa for a foreigner wishing to come to Sierra Leone who cannot find a Sierra Leone Consulate, Embassy or High Commission in his country. Such visa is referred to as landing permit.

To acquire a landing permit, a form is given at the port of entry. One is required to fill the form, pay visa fees, obtain a receipt, and fax information to the foreigner in question. Payment can be made up front or upon arrival at port of entry.

On private issues, a letter of invitation must have been obtained or received from the foreigner, which the individual will present with the application for entry visa. The visa can either be transit visa, single entry visa or multiple entries visa.
